Gain practical tools for complex patient care

Patients with persistent symptoms or multiple health concerns can present significant clinical challenges. This workshop offers a systematic approach to exploring the factors that may contribute to illness, bringing together patient history, clinical examination and investigation findings. Explore how dietary and lifestyle interventions—and, where appropriate, nutraceuticals and herbal medicines—may complement standard care within an individualised treatment plan.

Strengthen your interpretation of clinical investigations

Build a structured approach to interpreting laboratory results alongside symptoms, dietary history and clinical examination findings. Review relevant biochemistry and explore the relationships between nutritional status, inflammation, mitochondrial function and hormones. The workshop aims to strengthen your clinical reasoning and help you connect investigation findings with individualised treatment planning.

Connect evidence with clinical practice

Develop a clearer understanding of the research informing integrative approaches and how to assess its relevance to patient care. Drawing on research indexed in PubMed, the workshop explores topics including the gut microbiome, inflammation, mitochondrial function, hormones and nutrition. Clinical examination sessions and a detailed case study bring these concepts together, helping you translate learning into a more structured approach to assessment and treatment planning.

Clinical integrative medicine workshop

Our workshop presents a comprehensive, systematic and evidence-informed approach to integrative medicine, giving practitioners practical treatment options they can apply in clinical care. It looks beyond the diagnosis to explore why a patient has become unwell and the factors that may be contributing to ongoing illness.

Clinicians frequently encounter patients with complex presentations that are difficult to address through conventional approaches alone. By examining underlying causes and mechanisms, the workshop explores how dietary and lifestyle interventions—and, where appropriate, nutraceuticals and herbal medicines—may complement standard care.

A key focus is the gut microbiome, including approaches to modifying the microbiota through diet, prebiotics, probiotics and, when clinically indicated, antibiotics or herbal interventions. Other topics include inflammation, detoxification pathways, mitochondrial function, antioxidants and hormones.

The program also reviews vitamins, minerals, dietary approaches and relevant biochemistry. It offers a structured approach to interpreting investigations, includes sessions on clinical examination, and brings these concepts together through a detailed case study.

Drawing on research indexed in PubMed, the workshop examines the evidence supporting these strategies and their clinical application. It aims to build practitioners’ confidence in assessing complex patients, developing individualised treatment plans and supporting better patient care.
